ಪತ್ನಿಯ ಅಪಹರಣ: ಪತಿ ಸೆರೆ

ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದ್ದ ಪತಿ ಮಹಾಶಯ ಕೊನೆಗೂ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಬಲೆಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದು, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮಾಂತರ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ನಿನ್ನೆ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಲ್ಯಾಡಿಯ ಅಲ್ರಾ ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಧಿ ಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ತನ್ನಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗಲು ವಿಚ್ಛೇದನ ಕೋರಿರುವ ಪತ್ನಿಯ ಜೊತೆ ತಾನು ಬಾಳುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರಾವ ದುರುದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿ ಪೊಲೀಸರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

ಎಂಪಸಿಸ್ ಕಾಲ್‌ಸೆಂಟರ್ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿ ನೀರುಮಾರ್ಗ ಕೆಲ್ರಾಯಿ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಸೆರಾವೋ, ಆರು ವರುಷದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಮೇರ‍್ಲ ಪದವು ನಿವಾಸಿ ಕಿರಣ್ ಜೋನ್ಸ್ ಪಿರೇರಾ ಎಂಬಾತನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ವಿವಾಹವಾ ಗಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಮದುವೆಯಾದ ವರು ಷದೊಳಗೆ ಪತಿ ಕಿರುಕುಳ ನೀಡಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದ.

ತಾನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದಾತನ ನಿರಂತರ ಹಿಂಸೆಯಿಂದ ನೊಂದ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಗಂಡನಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯನ್ನು ಬಯಸಿ ವಿವಾಹ ವಿಚ್ಛೇದನವನ್ನು ಕೋರಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದಳು. ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ತವರು ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಸೇರಿದ್ದಳು. ಆದರೆ ಈ ವಿವಾಹ ವಿಚ್ಛೇದನವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪದ ಪತಿ ಮಹಾಶಯ ಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಹೇಗಾದರೂ ಮಾಡಿ ಸೇರಲೇ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹಲವಾರು ಬಾರಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದ. ಆದರೆ ಸರಿ ಆಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಕಿರಣ್ ಮಾತ್ರ ಬದಲಾಗಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಆತನ ಮೇಲಿನ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನೇ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಪತಿ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಸೊಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಕ್ರೋಧಗೊಂ ಡಿದ್ದ ಕಿರಣ್ ತಾನು ಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಹೇಗಾದರೂ ಮಾಡಿ ಸೇರಲೇಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯೋಚಿಸಿ ಅಪಹರಣದ ತಂತ್ರ ಹೆಣೆದಿದ್ದ. ಅದರಂತೆ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆಂದು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕಾರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತೆರಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರ ಜೊತೆ ಸೇರಿ ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದ ಕಿರಣ್ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೆಲ್ಯಾಡಿಯ ಅಲ್ರಾ ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿಯ ತನ್ನ ಬಾಡಿಗೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ.

ಕಿರಣ್ ಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಅಪಹರಿಸಲು ಬಳಸಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಿನ ನಂಬರ್ ನಿನ್ನೆಯೇ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ದೊರೆತಿರುವ ಕಾರಣ ಅದರ ಆಧಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರಿನ ಚಾಲಕನನ್ನು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿದ್ದರು. ನಿನ್ನೆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯೇ ಆತನನ್ನು ಠಾಣೆಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದು ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಜೋರಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವಂತೆ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಾಯ್ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ. ಆತ ನೀಡಿದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಆಧಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ಮುಂಜಾನೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ನೆಲ್ಯಾಡಿ ಅಲ್ರಾದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮನೆಗೆ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದು ಕಿರಣ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರ ಮೂವರನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ನಡೆದಿದೆಯೇ?

ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಮೇಲೆ ಪತಿ ಕಿರಣ್ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ದಟ್ಟವಾಗಿದೆ. ಗಂಡಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ರಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಪತ್ನಿಯ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಪತಿ ಸಂಭೋಗ ನಡೆಸುವುದು ಅತ್ಯಾ ಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮ ಎಂಬ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ತೀರ್ಪೇ ಇದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಪೊಲೀ ಸರು ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾಳನ್ನು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೊಳಪಡಿ ಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಲೈಂಗಿಕ ಬಲವಂತ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದರೆ ಕಿರಣ್ ಮೇಲೆ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ತೀರ್ಪಿಗೆ ತಲೆಬಾಗಿದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು

ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ನಂತೂರು ಪದುವಾ ಬಳಿ ಪಾರಂಪರ‍್ಯವಾಗಿ ವಾಸವಿದ್ದು ತಾವಿರುವ ಜಾಗವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ ವರ್ಗಾಯಿಸಿ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೋರಾಡಿದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಬ್ಬರು ಕೊನೆಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ತೀರ್ಪಿನಿಂದಾಗಿ ಮನೆ ತೊರೆಯಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ.

ಪದುವಾ ಮೇಲ್ಕಟ್ಟೆ ಕಂಪೌಂಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸರ್ವೇ ನಂಬ್ರ ೩೯-೩ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ಸ್ ಜಾಗ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಗಿರಿಜಾ ಸಪಲ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ವೆಂಕಮ್ಮ ಎಂಬವರ ಕುಟುಂಬ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮನೆ ತೊರೆದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಗತಿಕರಾದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಬ್ಬರೇ ವಾಸವಿದ್ದರು.

ಆದರೆ ಜಾಗದ ಮಾಲಿಕರಾದ ಬಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರ ಸಹೋದರಿ ಲೀಲಾವತಿ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲ ಯದ ಮೊರೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ತೀರ್ಪು ಅವರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೂ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ತಡೆಯಾಜ್ಞೆ ತಂದಿದ್ದರಾದರೂ ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಅದು ಕೂಡ ತೆರವುಗೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ತೊರೆಯಬೇಕಾದ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯತೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಆದರೂ ಕದ್ರಿ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗದ ಮಾಲಿಕರು ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯವಾದಿಯ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಮಾನವೀಯ ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಮವಾರದವರೆಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇರಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾ ಗಿದೆ.

Supreme Court issues notice to Baba Ramdev's trust

New Delhi: There's more trouble for Baba Ramdev as the Supreme Court, after examining the affidavit submitted by the Delhi Police, has issued notice to his Bharat Swabhiman Trust, asking them to reply to the Delhi Police report.

The court has also asked Ramdev's trust to why the yoga camp was used as a venue for a fast, when the permission was only for the former.

A vacation bench comprising justices P Sathasivam and A K Patnaik issued notice to Acharya Virendra Vikram, the president of the Delhi chapter of Bharat Swabhiman Trust.

The court said it wants to hear the other side as a chance should be given to them to represent their stand. It posted the matter for July 11 for next hearing.


In its affidavit filed before the Supreme Court, the Delhi Police had defended the crackdown on Baba Ramdev's supporters saying the permission was granted for only for a gathering of 5,000 people but 65,000 people had gathered at Ramlila Ground at a camp led by the yoga teacher, who was fasting against corruption and black money. The police also said that the congregation was allowed only for yoga camp and for no other purpose. (Read: No lathicharge at Ramdev camp, claims Delhi police)

Delhi Police had filed the affidavit following a direction of the apex court which had taken suo motu note of the police crackdown and had directed it to explain why it resorted to such action against Ramdev and his supporters.

Late at the intervening night of June 4-5, while many people were sleeping, the police was seen teargassing the crowd and beating some people with batons. Baba Ramdev was caught trying to escape to the railway station and was flown to his ashram in Uttarakhand. The police blame the violence at the camp on the chaos that followed as Baba Ramdev tried to evade arrest by disappearing into the crowd at his camp.

The police said that it was forced to retaliate after supporters of Baba Ramdev threw stones and flower pots at them when policemen tried to reach the stage where Baba Ramdev was delivering a speech.

Activists and Opposition parties have described the police action as a violation of the right to peacefully protest.

Kanimozhi refused bail, will stay in jail

New Delhi: DMK President M Karunanidhi is likely to fly to Delhi tomorrow to meet his daughter, Kanimozhi, who was refused bail by the Supreme Court today. Kanimozhi was arrested on May 20 in connection with the 2G telecom scam. However, she has been given the right to go back to the special court that's trying the telecom scam, and apply for bail under a provision that allows for "leniency for women, children and old people in matters of bail."

Her lawyer pleaded in court today, "'Put CCTV camera in her house if you like. Impose any condition. But why should she be deprived of her son's company?"

The CBI has placed serious charges against Kanimozhi - it says she conspired with fellow DMK leader A Raja to accept a kickback worth Rs. 214 crore in the telecom scam. Mr Raja was arrested
in February for masterminding the scam. He stands accused of selling mobile network licences and spectrum at a pittance in 2008 to companies that he colluded with. One of those companies - Swan - allegedly repaid him by routing a Rs. 214-crore cheque through a series of companies.
The money was deposited with Kalaignar TV, a Tamil channel in Chennai co-owned by Kanimozhi.

Two courts - a special court set up to try the 2G scam and the Delhi High Court - have rejected bail for Kanimozhi in the last few weeks. The High Court cited her "political clout" and expressed concerns that she may be able to influence witnesses if she is freed. The judge of the 2G trial court had observed, "Much as I would want to show her consideration on the grounds that she's a woman, and the fact that she has conducted herself with great dignity in court, considering the magnitude of the offence she's been charged with, the character of evidence on record and the possibility of the accused tampering with evidence and influencing witnesses, the bail plea is dismissed." These grounds for refusing bail were described as "untenable" by the Supreme Court today.

To try again for bail in the special 2G court, Kanimozhi will have to wait till charges are formally framed against her and others in the 2G scam - that will happen after the CBI files its third chargesheet in the case, expected in early July. Kanimozhi was named in the second chargesheet along with Sharath Kumar, the Managing Director of her TV channel. The first chargesheet had deposited Mr Raja and senior executives from some of India's biggest telecoms in jail.

Her lawyers have argued that Kanimozhi was not an active decision-maker in the financial and other affairs of Kalaignar TV - a stand the CBI has opposed. Kanimozhi's lawyers argued that she should get bail because she is a woman, and because she needs to look after her young son because her husband works abroad.

The 2G scam - reported to be India's largest-ever swindle and price-tagged at Rs. 1.76 lakh crore
by the government's auditor - has seriously undermined the government's credibility and its claims that it is working hard to check corruption. Since September last year, a series of scams have proved that politicians, bureaucrats and often industrialists conspired to rook India with rough-hewn financial conspiracies.

The spotlight on Kanimozhi has also cast a long shadow over the alliance between the Congress and her father, M Karunanidhi, who heads the DMK.

The DMK has six Union ministers and 18 Lok Sabha MPs, making it a heavyweight in the UPA coalition at the Centre which is headed by the Congress.
